The beautiful eyes of a guitar fish.
Named after its guitar like shape, this fish looks like a cross between a shark and a ray.
Since the guitar fish does not have eyelids, it has developed a unique way to protect its eyes by using a muscle which can retract its eye ball right into its head. Because the guitar fish feeds on crabs and fish on the sea bed, usually a lot of sand is disbursed during the hunt as especially as the prey would thrash about. Being able to retract its eyeball would help it protect the eyes from sand and coral.
