  How Do Elephants Eat Grass. Here's a wonderful herd of elephants which are eating grass. You might be wondering how do elephants eat grass, elephants are herbivores meaning that they eat mostly plants and they can consume up to 200kgs of vegetation a day. They spend about 10 to 15 hours a day just eating and the quantity of grass they consume depends on the season and the habitat. They eat more grass in the wet season and when its dry, they eat more tree bark, twigs and leaves. The elephant uses its trunk to bring food up to its mouth. It rips the grass from the ground, dusts it off, and it does that to remove the sand and the stones. On this Safari game drive in tsavo east , we get to see some lions inside a waterhole, a cheetah by the road, a lucky zebra who escaped the claws of lions, a trio of jackals and many varieties of birds. These are some of the wildlife we may see on a Tsavo East Safari in December.

  A Hundred Elephants at a Windmill seen on our Safari in Tsavo East A magnificent scene of about a hundred elephants at a windmill. Because the park was very dry the last two months, a very large herd of elephants gathered at the windmill as it was the only reliable water source.   These zebras are close to lions. On the early morning game drive in our tsavo east safari we spotted some zebras behaving a little more cautiously than usual. We then spotted the lions resting near the water pan.
