Comedy At Ndololo Camp In Tsavo East National Park

Hyena in Tsavo East Sound asleep inside the comfortable and spacious tent of Ndololo Camp, i was suddenly awakened, at a very odd hour, by the sound of continuous chatter and laughter. It seemed as though comedy night had come to Tsavo. The high pitch and uniqueness of this laugh however, clearly ruled out the possibility of it coming from my neighbors in the tent next door. This laugh was from a cheeky hyena! The lovely comedian had for some reason decided to stay close to my tent that night and laugh the night away. It got me wondering if the joke was on me... maybe it was my snoring! Tsavo-east-safari-kenya

Lioness Having Dinner In Tsavo East

Lioness feeding in Tsavo East One of the great things about choosing the tsavo east national park as an option to safari in Kenya, is that after so many years of experience in Tsavo, our Wild Kenya Safaris guides have unrivaled local knowledge about the area. We know the ins and outs of this park and have been following the lives of lions, cheetahs and leopards for over ten years now. With that kind of dedication and passion for wildlife, we have a good idea about where our favorite big cats like to hang out. This lioness had successfully completed a hunt near Satao Camp in Tsavo East and was just about to sit to her hartebeest dinner. Her glittering eyes gave us the impression that she wanted us to stay around and give her company for dinner ... how could anyone refuse such a wonderful offer ? :) Kenya Safari Tsavo East

International Hippo Day

A pod of hippos inside the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania What a nice way to celebrate International Hippo day as we enjoy watching these wonderful animals surrounded by the Ngorongoro crater walls in Tanzania.  The little lake pictured here is host to a large pod of swimming hippos. Its location is quite easily accessible  as it is adjacent to one of the major picnic sites. Nature lovers, bird watchers and wildlife photographers can easily spend a whole day watching the spectacular view as the hippos interact with each other. The Golden Lioness Of Tsavo East

Lioness resting in the golden light of Tsavo East I feel that the phrase 'painting with light' cannot be better expressed in words. The photograph of this lioness in tsavo east national park, just seems to naturally explain the term itself. For some us who have acquired wildlife photography skills, this photo was taken at the golden hour which is the moment just before sunset or sunrise. Since the sun is low on the horizon at those times of day, there is a beautiful softness to the light which gives a magical touch to ones photographs.  During one of our safaris in tsavo east, we found this lioness resting in a patch of grass just after she completed a successful hunt. Positioning ourselves in the right direction, we waited for the sun to begin setting and nature just did the rest. The grass slowly started lighting up golden, presenting a beautiful photo moment befitting this queen of the jungle. Wild Kenya Safaris - www.wildkenyasafaris.com
