Beautiful Eyes | Octopus

The beautiful eyes of an octopus can actually only see in black and white.  They however do have more photoreceptors than any other vertebrate and their rectangular shaped pupils may allow them to detect fine details in color.  We can actually see some of its tentacles colour changing trying to blend into the rocky background. Its also really cool to watch the octopus in respiration, breathing in oxygen and exhaling through its tube known as a siphon.  These are some of the marine life we may see on a scuba diving trip with Wild Kenya Safaris.

Red Tsavo Elephants At a Waterhole

A pleasant and peaceful moment of red tsavo elephants at a waterhole. It's nice to see the elephants of different ages all together don't you agree? These are some of the wildlife we may see on a Tsavo East Safari with Wild Kenya Safaris.  To Book a Safari with Wild Kenya Safaris: Website: https://www.wildkenyasafaris.com

Beautiful Eyes | Guitar Fish

The beautiful eyes of a guitar fish.  Named after its guitar like shape, this fish looks like a cross between a shark and a ray. Since the guitar fish does not have eyelids, it has developed a unique way to protect its eyes by using a muscle which can retract its eye ball right into its head. Because the guitar fish feeds on crabs and fish on the sea bed, usually a lot of sand is disbursed during the hunt as especially as the prey would thrash about. Being able to retract its eyeball would help it protect the eyes from sand and coral.

Beautiful Eyes | Puffer Fish

The beautiful eyes of a puffer fish. The puffer fish is one of the few species of fish that have corneal iridescence which reflects a specific wavelength of light. For each fish the Iridescent layer of pigment over and around the eye is different and unique, which makes watching them always so interesting. The magical colors and patterns of the glow gives the impression that you are staring into a galaxy.
