The Life Of A White Rhino

A baby White Rhino next to its mother

A female White Rhino becomes sexually mature when she reaches six years years of age.
She will usually pair with an older male for One to Two weeks during mating before they finally part ways and she will give birth to a single calf after 16 to 18 months.

Once her baby is born, she will nurture and protect it vigorously for up to three years, dedicating her full attention to her precious and endangered baby.

After the three years are up and the mom is ready to mate again, she will begin to part ways from her growing baby and search for a mate.

Did you know that a baby white rhino always walks infront of its mother rather than behind her?
