Tsavo East Elephant and Baby

Elephant and her calf in Tsavo East This photo truly encompasses one of those very special mother and calf elephant moments. Photographed in Tsavo East national park during one of our Wild Kenya Safaris game drives, this pair was literally just five meters away from us and while mom was busy chewing on the branch that lay by her feet, the baby elephant kept weaving itself  in and out between its moms legs. The emotional attachment between these two was incredibly powerful and unforgettable.

Ngutuni Sanctuary Lion Feeding On Warthog

Lion at Ngutuni Sanctuary with a Warthog Kill Starting off the early morning safari in Ngutuni Sanctuary at 6:30am, we were about 5 minutes into the safari and were fortunate to find this male lion by the side of the road. He had just killed a large warthog. Obviously very chuffed with his kill, he sat proudly next to it for a while and then had the busy task of trying to keep away a pair of jackals from his hard earned meal.  The drama of the between the lion and jackals was indeed very entertaining and about 2 hours later, the lion actually attempted to hunt another pair of warthogs that unsuspectingly wandered unawares towards the lion.

Happy Mothers Day - Wildlife

A lioness affectionately greets her cubs in Tsavo East Kenya Everyday is a mothers day. The immeasurable sacrifices and struggles that a mom undertakes is simply out of the pure love that she has for her little ones. This lioness from Aruba pride may have been unsuccessful on the hunt today, but she is happy to be back with her babies.  Happy Mothers Day and may God bless all past, present and future mama's always.

Waterbuck in Tsavo East

A large male waterbuck in tsavo Often overlooked by the seasoned safari visitor, a large waterbuck such as this one definitely adds to the majestic experience of a wildlife safari in Kenya.  This large male was proudly standing in the riverine forested area of Tsavo, giving us a picturesque perspective of a beautiful animal such as this in its natural habitat.

Lion Cubs On A Tsavo Safari

Lion siblings in Tsavo East National Park Lion siblings are undoubtedly one of the most entertaining to watch while on a safari in Kenya. The energetic and playful relationship between siblings and cousins is closely bonded, reinforced through play and affectionate greetings.

Mr Ostrich and Kids

Male Ostrich with chicks in Tsavo East. Over the weekend, it seems papa Ostrich took the kids out for some sightseeing. The little family was spotted happily wandering alog one of the many roads inside the tsavo east national park. Watchful mama ostrich was not too far behind though, only about 25 meters behind the flock, probably wanting to give papa and kids some bonding time.

Beautiful Lioness Detail

Close up of dominant lioness in tsavo east One of my all time favorite lion prides that i have the pleasure of monitoring in Tsavo East National Park is the Aruba Pride of Lions. It is currently the largest and also the most entertaining group of big cats around simply because there are alot of cubs and sub-adults. The dominant female pictured above, is an excellent matriarch to the pride. Keeping all the members well fed and protected, her exceptional hunting skills will hopefully be passed down to all the youngsters. In the above photo, she was literally three meters away from the vehicle and comfortably resting in the open by the road side. She would occasionally take a peek up and stare for about ten seconds just to keep an eye on what the cubs were doing. After noticing this little habit, i waited for the next opportunity when she lifted her head and managed to get a nice close up of her beautiful aging features. I enjoyed capturing the details of the fur, whisk...
