Mr Ostrich and Kids

Male Ostrich with chicks in Tsavo East. Over the weekend, it seems papa Ostrich took the kids out for some sightseeing. The little family was spotted happily wandering alog one of the many roads inside the tsavo east national park. Watchful mama ostrich was not too far behind though, only about 25 meters behind the flock, probably wanting to give papa and kids some bonding time.

Beautiful Lioness Detail

Close up of dominant lioness in tsavo east One of my all time favorite lion prides that i have the pleasure of monitoring in Tsavo East National Park is the Aruba Pride of Lions. It is currently the largest and also the most entertaining group of big cats around simply because there are alot of cubs and sub-adults. Tsavo Lioness On The Hunt

Lioness On The Hunt A sub adult lioness in hunting mode from the Aruba pride shows us a typical big cat approach. Head below the shoulder line with quick tip toed struts as she moves towards the subject, which in this case was a family of warthogs.

Queens of Tsavo East

These three sisters in tsavo east show us the best way to nap when you're belly full ! While on a safari in tsavo east we normally make it a point to stop and check some of the waterholes, especially if its a particularly hot day. Our decision to drive and check five waterholes paid off when we came across this trio of lionesses resting next to the waters edge. With bellies full, two lionesses that were fast asleep looked ever so comfortable with their legs facing up to the skies.
